Reg E. Cathey of 'House of Cards,' 'The Wire,' dies after conflict with cancer

Actor Reg E. Cathey – best famous for roles in “House of Cards and “The Wire” – died this week after a conflict with cancer.

Cathey’s behaving career began in 1984 with a radio movie, “A Doctor’s Story,” Variety reported.

Over a years, he seemed on many obvious radio shows, including “Grimm,” “Law Order: Special Victims Unit,” and “Outcast.”

For his purpose of Freddy on “House of Cards,” Cathey won an Emmy in 2015 for superb guest actor. He also perceived nominations in 2014 and 2016.

Cathey’s films enclosed “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks,” alongside Oprah Winfrey, a “Fantastic Four” reboot, “Flock of Four,” “Tyrel,” as good as a 1990′s cult classic, “Seven.”

The 59-year-old actor was innate in Huntsville, Ala. He graduated from a University of Michigan and a Yale School of Drama.

Cathey’s genocide stirred friends, acquaintances and colleagues to compensate reverence on Twitter.  

“We are sad by a flitting of a crony and House of Cards co-worker Reg E. Cathey,” Netflix pronounced in a statement. “Reg was a kindest man, a many giving actor, a loyal gentlemen. Our magnetism goes to his family.”

Actor Bobby Cannavale tweeted, “We mislaid a sweet, honeyed male and a sweet, sweet, SWEET artist today. Rest in Power, Reg E. Cathey We Will skip you.”

“The Wire” creator David Simon tweeted, “Reg Cathey, 1958-2018. Not usually a fine, dictatorial actor — though simply one of a many pleasant tellurian beings with whom we ever common some prolonged days on set. On wit alone, he could double any male over and leave him thinking. Reg, your memory is a good blessing.”
