David Cassidy's Daughter Katie Reveals Her Father's Last Poignant Words

Katie Cassidy is remembering her father David Cassidy and reflecting on their ups and downs.

On Friday, the Arrow singer common a distressing twitter honoring a late star, who died of organ failure Tuesday during a age of 67.

“Words cant demonstrate a condolence a family’s perceived from all a adore support during this perplexing time,” she wrote. “My father’s final difference were ‘So most squandered time.’ This will be a daily sign for me to share my thankfulness with those we adore as to never rubbish another minute… Thank you.”

The Partridge Family star and Katie, 30, had a difficult relationship: Though Katie was lifted by her mother, former indication Sherry Williams, and her stepfather, Richard Benedon, David still played a purpose in her life.

“Because we didn’t lift her, we didn’t have to primogenitor her,” David told PEOPLE in 2009. “I’m always here and totally nonjudgmental.”

“To be means to go to someone I’m genetically related to, tell them anything and know that they’re not going to decider me — it’s unbelievable,” Katie pronounced during a time. “It’s good when your father can be your friend.”

But over time, a span drifted apart. In February, David confessed to PEOPLE that a dual were no longer in contact.

“I wasn’t her father. we was her biological father though we didn’t lift her. She has a totally opposite life,” he explained. “[But] I’m unapproachable of her. She’s really talented. It’s tough for me to even accept how aged she is now.”

David had been in complete caring given he was hospitalized for liver and kidney failure last week.

“On interest of a whole Cassidy family, it is with good unhappiness that we announce a flitting of a father, a uncle, and a dear brother, David Cassidy,” his family pronounced in a matter to PEOPLE on Tuesday. “David died surrounded by those he loved, with fun in his heart and giveaway from a pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank we for a contentment and support we have shown him these many years.”

In further to Katie, David is survived by son Beau Cassidy; brothers Shaun, Patrick and Ryan; stepmother Shirley Jones; and countless nieces, nephews and cousins. Plans for a commemorative and wake use have not nonetheless been disclosed.
