College football: Heisman finalists named

Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield and reigning Heisman Trophy leader Lamar Jackson of Louisville are Heisman finalists for a second true year and will be assimilated in New York for a display rite by Stanford using behind Bryce Love.

The 3 finalists were announced Monday night. The endowment for many superb college football actor will be given out Saturday night.

Jackson is perplexing to turn a second actor to win dual Heismans, fasten former Ohio State star Archie Griffin, though Mayfield will come to Manhattan as a transparent front-runner. He finished fourth in a Heisman voting in 2015 though was not invited to New York. Last year, he was one of 5 finalists and finished third behind Jackson and Clemson’s Deshaun Watson.

This season, Mayfield has led a No. 2 Sooners (12-1) to a Big 12 championship and a College Football Playoff. Oklahoma plays Georgia in a Rose Bowl semifinal on Jan. 1. Mayfield leads a republic in potency rating during 203.76 and has thrown for 4,340 yards and 41 touchdowns.
