Twenty years ago today, Los Angeles came to a halt.

On Jun 17, 1994, radio networks and wire news channels aired dual hours of nonstop coverage of maybe a many famous automobile follow to have ever taken place on Los Angeles freeways: O.J. Simpson in a white Ford Bronco.

As some-more than a dozen California Highway Patrol units and Los Angeles military patrol cars tailed a Bronco, onlookers cheered and waved from overpasses and ramps during a slow-speed follow — some even pulled over and got out of their vehicles to call from a roadside.

It was, as one party counsel put it, “the day Los Angeles stopped.”
