1,300-Acre Easy Fire Erupts Near Reagan Library In Simi Valley, 6,500 Homes Threatened

Mandatory evacuations were released for a following areas:

  • Area bordered by Tierra Rejada Road to a north, Madera Road to a south,  Madera Road to a easterly and Highway 23 to a west
  • Area bordered by Read Road to a North, Olsen Road to a south, Highway 23 to a easterly and Moorpark Road to a west.
  • Area bordered by Santa Rosa Rd. to a north, Andalusia Dr. to a south, Moorpark Rd. to a easterly and Andalusia Dr. to a west.

The Reagan library, a largest presidential library in a nation, and all around it was evacuated as well.

“We’ve evacuated everybody from a library and all a structures down below,” Arnold said.

The 23 Freeway was close down between Avenida de los Arboles and Los Angeles Avenue. More than 22,700 Southern California Edison business in Ventura County were but electricity due to designed energy outages due to a Santa Ana winds.

The Simi Valley Unified School District was shutting all schools Wednesday and Moorpark College was canceling all the classes. Dozens of other Ventura County schools were also closed.
